Lithography (also known as litho printing) works on the basic principle that oil and water do not mix.  The basic litho printing process comprises of the image areas being on the same level as the non-image areas on a flat surface.  This means that the image areas attract the oil-based ink and the non-image wet areas repel the oil-based inks.  The commercial process has evolved from the use of stone to metal plates.  Lithography is the most versatile and unrestrictive printing process that exists; unique style can be applied on a variety of products.
